What is Breast cancer

The word “Cancer” describes abnormal cells that grow and invade healthy cells in our body. Cancer affects all people regardless of their age, gender or ethnic backgrounds. There are over 200 different types of cancer.

Breast cancer starts in the breast as a group of cancer cells that can then invade surrounding tissues or spread (metastasize) to other areas of the body. It is most commonly found in women but breast cancer may also develop in men.

Breast cancer is not one disease. There are different types of Breast cancer and also different stages. Some breast cancers are sensitive to hormones, sensitive to targeted therapy and some are sensitive to neither and called triple negative breast cancers.
