Many of us will have had the experience of a close friend or family member been diagnosed with cancer. Such a diagnosis usually brings anxiety and concern for the future. My name is Dr. Maher Hadaki and I have become an oncologist because I have a deep desire to change the course of this disease. My passion is to cure where possible and when a cure is not possible to extend and improve my patients’ lives.
I completed my oncology training at Cambridge University Hospital and University College London Hospital. I have been working as an oncology consultant using Radiotherapy, Chemotherapy, Hormones, and Immunotherapy since 2012. I hold the membership of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP) and I am a fellow member at the Royal College of Radiologists (FRCR). I spent the first 10 years of my carrier in the UK treating patients in Kent Oncology Centre and also in the private sector at GenesisCare in West Malling, Maidstone and Leaders in Oncology Care at Harley Street in central London. In November 2022, I moved to the UAE to work as a clinical oncology consultant at Mediclinic Airport Road Hospital in Abu Dhabi.
I am a member of the Tumour Board that meet weekly to discuss all cancer cases diagnosed recently at Mediclinic hospitals and clinics in Abu Dhabi. The Tumour Board consists of highly trained surgeons, radiologists, histopathologists, physicians , and medical oncologists and we all work together in harmony to provide patients with the most effective management plan. All treatments we recommend are in line with the most up-to-date national and international cancer guidelines.
